Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy outlines what you can and cannot do when using LOCKD. We built LOCKD to help freelancers and creative professionals securely transfer files and get paid for their work. To keep our platform safe and reliable for everyone, we require all users to follow these guidelines.
Permitted Uses
LOCKD is designed for:
- Transferring files to clients for professional services
- Protecting deliverables behind payment requirements
- Sharing previews and collecting feedback
- Managing revisions and client approvals
- Any lawful business purpose related to freelance or creative work
Prohibited Content
You may not upload, store, or transfer:
- Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
- Illegal content of any kind
- Malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Content that exploits or harms minors
- Content promoting violence, hatred, or discrimination
- Stolen or unauthorized data
- Content that violates privacy rights
Prohibited Activities
You may not use LOCKD to:
- Conduct fraudulent transactions or scams
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt our services
- Circumvent security measures or access controls
- Send spam or unsolicited communications
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Resell or redistribute our services without permission
File Size and Storage
You must use our storage and bandwidth resources responsibly. Abuse of storage limits or using LOCKD primarily as a file backup service (rather than for file transfers) may result in account restrictions. Please refer to your plan limits for specific storage and transfer allowances.
Enforcement
If we determine that you have violated this policy, we may take action including:
- Removing prohibited content
- Suspending your account temporarily
- Terminating your account permanently
- Reporting illegal activity to law enforcement
We will try to notify you before taking action when possible, but we reserve the right to act immediately when necessary to protect our users or comply with law.
Reporting Violations
If you believe someone is violating this policy, please report it to abuse@lockd.app. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
