What Happens Next

After a DMCA Notice

We will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material and notify the user who posted it. We will provide them with a copy of the notice.

After a Counter-Notification

We will forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action within 10-14 business days, we may restore the removed content.

Repeat Infringers

LOCKD will terminate accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers. We track DMCA notices and take appropriate action against users who repeatedly violate copyright laws.

Good Faith

Filing a false DMCA notice or counter-notification may result in legal liability. We encourage all parties to seek legal counsel before submitting a notice. Misuse of the DMCA process may result in penalties under 17 U.S.C. 512(f).
